Jay Jay Billings is a Principal Applied Scientist and technology executive with deep expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and research software engineering, and the CEO of Band Gap. His career spans national laboratories, government research programs, and industry, including senior engineering and applied science roles at Amazon, where he worked on large-scale AI systems.

With a strong foundation in physics, astrophysics, and energy science, Jay Jay is known for bridging rigorous scientific research with practical, real-world applications. He is also an active open-source leader, serving on the Eclipse Foundation Architecture Council and contributing to tools that advance scientific computing, interoperability, and sustainable technology development.
